Hlengiwe Precious Nxele(Environmental Education Facilitator) with the Duzi Umngeni Conservation Trust. In this role, Hlengiwe coordinates schools.She recruits schools in and around Mafunze to join DUCT’s Eco-club and education programme.She works closely with school teachers to identify pupils that are suitable for joining Eco-clubs (20 learners). providing support and assistance to these schools around all aspects of the environment, including river health, waste management and invasive alien plants. A big believer in youth education as children are key in bringing change, Hlengiwe supports activism against child abuse. Hlengiwe is no stranger to Environmental education , having spent four years as an Environmental Education Facilitator and an office keeper, where she organizes environmental events with schools and coordinates the yearly schools environmental excursions. Hlengiwe has more than 8 years of in-depth experience in environmental matters. |
