Paddlers who did this year’s Ngwenya Challenge race in September will remember having to negotiate a rather nasty gum tree block not far below Low Level bridge. Last week, elements of the same team that cleared the Upper Umgeni tree blocks a few months ago got together and nailed this one. A big thank you to Maple Leaf Arborists (Ian Shuter, Shane Houghting), Stihl equipment and George Forder for rising to the challenge.
