Inkosi Bhengu
Inkosi Bhengu is the Inkosi for the KwaNgcolosi Traditional Authority area in the Valley of a Thousand Hills. He has been very involved with supporting the Dusi Canoe Marathon over many years. Inkosi Bhengu is currently the senior iNkosi in the Valley area between Pietermaritzburg and Durban.

Inkosi Mlaba
Inkosi Mlaba is the past Inkosi for the KwaXimba Traditional Authority area in the Valley of a Thousand Hills. He has played a significant role in supporting the Dusi Canoe Marathon over the years, and has completed several Dusi Marathons himself. Inkosi Bhengu is also a retired provincial MP, during his term of office he was the Chairman of the Environmental Committee in the Provincial Parliament.

Professor Charles Breen
Professor Charles Breen is the former head of the Institute of Natural Resources. Over the years Professor Breen supervised many students who are now senior researchers in the field of water research. He has been a member of the Kruger National Park Rivers Research Programme, and has been instrumental in the development of the Consortium for Estuarine Research and Management.

Cameron MacKenzie
Cameron has been Chairman of the Dusi Canoe Marathon for the last three years. Apart from being a veteran of many Dusi Marathons, he has also been one of the hardy group who have re-enacted the original Dusi Canoe Marathon in canvas and wood canoes. Cameron is the owner of Parklane Spar and a well known member of the Pietermaritzburg business community.
